Vibe's bass response make them a great workout companion ... they're comfortable, sound great, and are among the most attractive headphones you'll find anywhere.

... comparable in detail to the best we’ve heard at this price point.

The sound quality is excellent ... potent bass all over your eardrums, however the bass sounds very clear with no 'murkiness'.

These Vibe earbuds blow away many of the high end headphones costing 2-3 times its price. What else can I say but excellent!

IGN Review - Gerry Block::: (full review)
The Vibes seem to have captured the balance of the M-Class and the solid bass of the Bass-freqs. The combination of these characteristics is a very warm, well balanced earphone that can handle just about any genre of music you care to throw at it. The Vibes are bass-y, but not excessively so. We listened to a lot of Tool's AEnima to get a feel for the Vibes, and the album did a good job highlighting their characteristics. Lower-frequencies, like the beating-heart underlying base guitar that runs through much of the album's title track, are more apparent than with other earphones in this range that we've tested. Happily, the Vibes were able to keep up with the highs and lows of Maynard's LA-hating anthem and we never got the sense that we were losing too much off the high end of his voice, or that the bass was obscuring other parts of the music. We also tried some comparison testing based upon Iron Maiden's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" from Powerslave and were again pleased with the fact that the Vibes gave the galloping chords a lot of weight, yet didn't detract from Bruce Dickenson's range or obscure the lyrics.
In order to explore some other genres we gave a listen to Tuxedomoon's Cabin In The Sky album. Their music is complex, layering a deep singing voice upon deeper string-bass chords, high trumpets, snare drums, and all kinds of environmental chimes, clicks, scratches, and murmurs. The Vibes transmitted each crisply, and even when many effects were going on at once, the clarity of the highs added enough resolution to the sonic pallet that none of the effects sounded muddled or overshadowed.
The Vibes competes with a variety of earphones from Shure and Etymotics, among others. In both looks and performance, the Vibes hold their own against every competitor we've tested.

I know what you are thinking - OK, so they are very cool to look at and hold - but how do they sound? Well, if you remember my review of the V-MODA Bass Freq Earphones and how impressed I was with them - these blow pretty much every sub-$150.00 Earphone I have tested right out of the water. They sound amazing.
That being said, these might not be for the "audio purists" of the group. There is a definite "sound" that V-MODA is going for here - one that is very full at the low end, clear at the high end and sort of like a dance club in your head. This is not a "Flat" sound - far from it. That being said, I really love the sound. It was so full at the lower frequencies that I could turn off the EQ on the iPod and get more bass than almost any headphone out there - save the Super.fi. EB - which costs two and a half times as much! With no EQ, the sound quality of the iPod is also much improved.
I tried all sorts of music and found the Vibe to reproduce vocals beautifully, instruments were clear and crisp and the Bass was amazing. It is hard to believe that these things only sell for $101.00.”
Overall Conclusions:
This is an amazing set of Earphones. It is a work of art in design and a work of genius in sound engineering. For $101.00 you simply cannot go wrong picking up a pair.

Good news, as the V-Moda Vibe performs as well as $100 earbuds should.
V-MODA touts "vibrant bass, vivid mid-range, and vivacious highs" on the Vibes. My experience? That's actually fairly accurate. The bass wasn't overloaded like in most cheapo earbuds you find for under $50. The mids and highs were also clear; much clearer than the default iPod or Zune earbuds.
But of course how they sound is less important if you can't stand wearing these earbuds for a long period of time. Not a problem here. The "ultra-soft silicon" fittings feel fine in my ears, sliding easily into the ear canal. Essentially the Baby Bear of earbuds—not too deep and not too shallow—just right.
And finally, the looks. To me they genuinely look better than most other earbuds.

The Vibe series provide a precise balance of rich bass, warm mids and unprecedented clarity. It's the next thing to being there. You can hear when the singer takes a breath, the squeak of a guitar string, the pressure of the drums. BLISS (Bass Level Isolating Soft Silicon) technology further reduces outside noise for a precise and rich bass response (frequency 12Hz to 22Hz)... the modaphones fit securely and comfortably.
At a suggested retail price of $101, you'd think they would be one of the higher priced earphones on the market, but not when you compare them to the E Shure series which tops out with the E5c at $549.00 MSRP. These are a steal, comparatively.

Whether you use them with your iPod or Zune, the V-Moda Vibe Earphones ($101) will grab all of the attention. The noise-isolating earphones feature an elegant, lightweight design sculpted from alloy metal. In our sound tests, we were surprised to find that the Vibes rank right up there with Etymotic and Shure earphones we've used. Great bass, mid-range and highs. The earphones come in a leather pouch with three sizes of ultra-soft silicon fittings to fit any ear.

On a scale of one to ten, I have to rate the V-moda Vibes a solid 9.5. There really isn't much wrong with these phones. What really ticks me off is I spent over $300 bones on my old favorites the Westone Um2. And now these bad boys come out at just $101 dollars and smoke them. I'm not kidding. The Vibes just sound so musical. When I get up in the morning to go to work I want to reach for my Um2s, because I spent so much on them, but the Vibes sweet sound call out to me, and I make the right choice and grab them instead.

I have the V-Moda Vibe, the CK7, the Sony EX90 and the Sony E888.
The CK7 just don't sound correct compared the vibes. They do have a lot of detail but they somehow sound a bit muddy. EX90s are not as clear either. Mids are not as good as the Vibe.
Vibes are very comfortable and have a great balanced sound. There's a lot of detail but it still sounds organic. I thought the bass was just right. The sound is kinda similar to the Sony e888 which is also a good headphone but way too fragile. The vibes on the other hand are built amazingly well and look good as bonus. V-moda should really be congratulated for designing and making such a good set of headphones at a reasonable cost.
I actually returned a pair of Shure e500 and got the V-moda instead. I'm much happier with the V-moda and felt the e500 was simply overpriced and with some music didn't sound as good.
I guess I've tried a lot of portable headphones recently and finally think I found one which I'm happy with. In summary - go for the V-moda Vibe! Hope this helps.
Customer Review - CN from Monterey Park:::
The vibe looks great. The build is top notch. It is very easy to insert into ear but not as deep as my Etymotic ER6 and feels quite comfortable after wearing for a few hours. The cord is pretty thick, it won't tangle and doesn't produce much cord noise. The base is definitely much stronger compare to the ER6, mid and high are about the same, overall fuller and louder music.

Okay I might not have written many reviews yet but I was compelled to share my experience with these headphones. After reading a review about these headphones I was very curious to try them out for myself. Aside from looking absolutely stunning, th... Read more >ese headphones outperformed EVERY other set of headphones that I have tried/owned in the past year. I have owned a pair of Apple in ear but headphones ($39) which always seems to fall out of my ear when working out so I stopped using those. The Shure E2c ($99), which I was currently using b/c it worked better than most had drawbacks which were constantly having to clean out the ear piece and putting a new waxguard on, also the cable length was long, cable cord was heavy and putting it behind the ear was a task in itself. The Seinheiser PMX sport 70 was ok ($49) and had some strong points such as water proof but the sound was leaking and it wasn't sealed in the ear so the music was the only thing I would be hearing. Even the Bang & Olfusen's ($159) were good but the price was very high and the earbuds wouldn't fit comfortably in the ear, not to mention the fact that the thing weighed alot. These V-Moda's improve on nearly every flaw of the competitions. They are VERY light, about a 1/3 of what the shures weight, the cable length is a little shorter and they fit perfectly in your ear. I am a huge workout nut. This includes weight training and running alot and last night I put these on to try them out and NOT ONCE did I have to stick them back in my ear b/c of falling out. In fact I kept touching my ear TRYING to stick it back in b/c I was so used to it with my other headphones (shures) but I realized I didn't have to! Simply put, they are the best headphones for runners b/c they are extremely light weight and have AWESOME sound! The bass is great and it never sounded as if I was straining the headphones. They come with a one year warranty so hopefully its something I won't have any use for in the future. Hope this review helps. Good luck. Trust me you won't be dissapointed.
Customer RS from Longwood:::
I have tested several other headphones in the $99 range, which include the Shure e2c, Bose In-Ear, Sony EX90, and of course the v-moda vibes. The Shure E2c, and the Sony EX90 do not have enough bass. The Bose In-Ear, have great bass, but too much. It's clear, but the highs and the mids are too low. The V-Moda Vibes have an excellent balance of bass, highs & mids. The clarity is unbelievable. And they stay in my ears when I jog! The only complaint I have about these headphones is the golden pouch case that it comes with. It looks tacky. From my experience, hands down, these are the best headphones you're going to get for $100.
Customer Noah:::
I got my Vibe's last Friday and opened them up immediately. Mind you I was listening to my E3c's all day at work so when I first turned these on, the sound difference was shocking to say the least. I tried them with Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams album first which some of you may know,is pretty bass rich. I do not listen to rap, so Jack Johnson is about the most bass heavy music I listen to. I was startled at these bass output of these...and no distortion!!!
My other first impression was where did my midrange-vocal presence go? This had me worried at first but I have been using them for over a week now,gotten through the break in period (which changed the sound drastically), and they have balanced out very nicely. Crisp clean highs, warm smooth mids with plenty of presence, and tight warm and deep low end. For a FORMER Shure user, this was a big change to hear some fullness in the low end, not just the slap...the kickdrum finally showed up! I started with Sennheiser MX90V,then Shure E2c,then E3c,now these. So I have decided...as the fourth pair of earphones I have owned and tried in the last month, I'm finally happy with a pair! Check out the metal construction unlike the plastic things that I spent nearly $200 for and am returning. I am actually anxious to listen to my music again instead of dreading the next "insertion process" and that awful harshness around 4kHz that I had gotten used to with my Shures. The sound is well balanced, warm, detailed, and exciting not to mention slammin! They sound natural and produce the most "out of head" experience I have had with headphones/earphones yet.
Customer EL from Huskvarna:::
Firstly I have to mention that these are not as "blingy" as they look on the picture -which is a good thing. I've had these for one day now and have listened to them for about 4 hours. The sound is very clear but with a strong emphasis towards bass which works for certain types of music, however I found myself leaving the "treble boost" option on my iPod engaged for all music (trance, dance, club, rock, pop) the vibes then sounded clearer with a, still, clear emphasis towards bass (which I like). The sound insulation is similar to other in-ear phones which I experienced during my daily commute into town. I would highly recommend these earphones to people who enjoy music with a lot of bass, otherwise look elsewhere.
